A salon hair dryer is held for six or eight hours a day, so the specification that matters is not just wattage. Professional hair dryers are judged on airflow, motor type, weight and how gently they treat the hair. AC motor or digital brushless?

An AC motor is the classic salon choice: heavy, durable and built for continuous operation. The HECTOR New York Style delivers 2400 W through a professional AC motor with a measured output of 98 m³/h at 91 km/h, and the HECTOR Hair Dryer uses the same AC principle for all-day blowouts. The trade-off is weight: the New York Style is 580 g.

A digital brushless motor spins far faster and weighs far less. The GAMMA+ XCEED runs at 120,000 RPM and comes in at just 300 g without the cable; the JRL FP2401 reaches 100,000 RPM at 320 g and 78 dB. If wrist fatigue is your problem, this is the fix.

Wattage and heat control

Raw power still counts on thick hair. The JRL Lamborghini FP2020L runs 2100-2400 W with heat from 85 °C to 145 °C and a noise level of 75 dB; the NISHMAN Professional 3500 delivers a straightforward 2500 W with a washable filter; the JRL FP2401 works between 1900 W and 2150 W across 3 speeds and 3 heat levels. Ionic, ceramic and infrared: what the hair actually gets

Ion generators cut static and frizz. The JRL FP2020L combines an ion generator with a ceramic grill and a graphene-coated heater; the POWERTEC TR-3333 uses plasma ionic technology across 5 functions; the HECTOR New York Style adds a ceramic thermal grille. The GAMMA+ XCEED goes furthest, layering Active Oxygen, ionic air and infrared heat, each switchable independently.
